WASHINGTON—There will be several hearings on Capitol Hill this week being monitored by credit unions, if for no other reason than the names given the hearings will appeal to the CU community.
On Wednesday, the House Committee on Financial Services will hold two hearings, beginning with “The Dodd-Frank Act and Regulatory Overreach,” at which three academics will testify. The HCFS will also hold a hearing titled “Legislative Proposals to Enhance Capital Formation and Reduce Regulatory Burdens, Part II,” at which five people are scheduled to testify, although none from credit unions.
On Thursday, House will hold a hearing called “Protecting Consumers: Financial Data Security in the Age of Computer Hackers.”
