ST. PAUL, Minn. – The $950-million Hiway FCU here has signed on as a premier sponsor of Minnesota Hockey, making it the presenting partner of the Minnesota Hockey Recreational Hockey League (Rec League).
Minnesota Hockey has been described as the fastest growing program of its kind, with nearly 55,000 players.
“As a partner of the (NHL’s) Minnesota Wild, Hiway is proud to be named as the official credit union of Minnesota Hockey,” said Dave Boden, Hiway president/CEO, in a report published first by the Minnesota Credit Union Network. “Hiway recognizes the unique role hockey plays in Minnesota’s culture and we’re excited to play a key role in encouraging more kids to play hockey as the presenting partner of Minnesota Hockey’s Recreation League.”
The mission of the Rec League is to encourage more kids in the Twin Cities metro area to experience ice hockey by allowing them to participate in a recreational setting, according to the MCUN.
