LOS ANGELES— To help people wake up for Daylight Saving Time this Sunday, March 13, Wescom Credit Union said it will be surprising customers at select locations of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf by paying for their coffee and breakfast bill. Tabs will be paid beginning the moment the doors open in the morning until $2,000-worth of bills are paid for at each of the 19 designated locations, at up to $15 per transaction. The partnership with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf marks the second annual Wake Up with Wescom Daylight Saving Time event as part of #WescomKindness.
“There’s no better time for a wake up call than Daylight Saving Time and we hope to make it a little easier for Southern Californians,” said Deena Otto, SVP-Administration with Wescom. “This Sunday, we’re simply helping people start their day out right by treating them to a special morning beverage and breakfast and we’re excited to make this an ongoing annual event with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Southern California’s longest running and beloved coffee establishment.”
Wescom Credit Union has chosen nineteen locations of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf throughout Southern California to participate and will have “Big Blue”, Wescom’s Mobile Banking Unit, parked in front of the Encino location with financial experts on hand to answer questions about finances. “Even minor adjustments once a year can keep your financial future on the right path and it’s a good time to remember to do a little spring cleaning with your personal finances,” said Deena Otto.
For this year’s event, three Westwood area locations were added to reinforce Wescom’s commitment to the UCLA community as the Official Financial Institution of UCLA Athletics. All participating locations for the Daylight Saving Time event are available online at www.wescom.org/wescomkindness.
In 2015 Wescom used the Daylight Saving event with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to kick off a year-long #WescomKindness campaign featuring Random Acts of Kindness on the streets and at various Southern California dining and entertainment locations. Throughout the year, unsuspecting customers had their tabs picked up at movie theaters, restaurants and food trucks, in addition to being surprised and delighted in many other ways, including free Christmas Trees given out at participating lots over the holidays, compliments of Wescom Credit Union.
