Hughes Named To State Liaison Committee To FFIEC

BOISE, Idaho—Mary Hughes has been selected to serve on the State Liaison Committee (SLC) to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.

Hughes is an active member of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors who serves as the Financial Institutions Bureau Chief of the Idaho Department of Finance.

As the NASCUS FFIEC SLC representative, Hughes’ role is to assure that state credit union regulatory and system issues are considered by fellow SLC members and by federal agency members of the FFIEC.

A former NASCUS director, Hughes succeeds Thomas Candon, former deputy commissioner of banking for the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, who left state service on Dec. 31, 2014. Hughes will serve through the remainder of Candon’s term, which ends March 31, 2015.

Hughes joins the current four members of the SLC: Chairman David Cotney, commissioner of banks for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Lauren Kingry, superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions; Karen Lawson, director of the Office of Banking within the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, and Michael Mach, Division of Banking administrator for the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions.
