NAPERVILLE, Ill.–The #ILoveMyCreditUnion social media blitz is set for today.
Created by Tom Kane, president of the Illinois Credit Union League, the objective is to raise awareness of credit unions and to bring the “credit union movement together on a single day with the purpose of inspiring authentic and high-energy conversation about why we love our credit unions.”
The campaign uses the hashtag #ILoveMyCreditUnion.
A number of free tools and resources, including social media templates, logo files, incentive ideas, and more are for free here.
In 2023, the Illinois league reported that I Love My Credit Union Day reached nine million people and had more than 30,000 engagements. More than 1,000 credit unions participated, the ICUL said.
What One CU is Doing
Among the CUs that said they will be participating in 2024 is TruWest Credit Union in Tempe, Ariz.
“Each July, TruWest kicks off a major social media campaign to raise community awareness about the credit union movement,” the credit union said, adding that this year it will be adding special activities at their Financial Service Centers that will include photo booths, balloons, snacks, and treats while sharing their love for their credit union.
