Illinois CU Leaders Are Recognized

NAPERVILLE, Ill.––The Illinois CU League recognized a number of people during the Celebration Luncheon at its annual convention here. 

Among those recognized:

  • Illinois Credit Union Foundation commemorative awards: A repeat memorial award in memory of George G. Burnett was recognized. This award was made possible with a gift from 1st MidAmerica Credit Union. Bonnie Soltesz, Ed Uhrik, and Les Willerth were each honored with a tribute award.
  • Illinois Credit Union League’s Hall of Fame inductee: Linda Irving, VP of Administration at KCT Credit Union, was honored with the Hall of Fame Lifetime achievement award for her achievements and leadership on behalf of the Illinois credit union movement.

  • Spirit of Service Award: Steve Autor, board member of Danville Credit Union, was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the credit union movement.

Also acknowledged at the Awards were the numerous credit unions and individuals who assisted the Illinois Credit Union Foundation in providing nearly $82,000 in grants, scholarships, and program support in 2015 and more than $3 million since its inception in 1978. In addition, eight credit unions celebrating milestones (90th, 75th, and 50th) anniversaries this year were recognized.
