In Wake of Heavy Rains, Floods, Fibre Federal Offering Relief

LONGVIEW, Wash.–Heavy rains in the Pacific Northwest, including thunderstorms and even 35-foot waves, have caused significant damage via floods and landslides.

In response, Fibre Federal Credit Union is offering emergency loans for those affected by the floods. FFCU said it is offering below-market rates to help members with home or property damage repair, insurance deductibles, recovery of personal property, medical or emergency equipment, and tree removal.

“We wanted to somehow help our friends and neighbors in the affected communities,” said Fibre Federal’s President and CEO Larry Hoff in a statement first reported by the Northwest Credit Union Association. “Times like these can be very stressful, and we’re more than honored to do it.” Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has declared a state of emergency in 12 counties, as flooding and landslides blocked roads and services.
