It’s Super Tuesday, And Credit Union Focus (And Money) Is On One Race In Particular

WASHINGTON–It’s Super Tuesday, and while most media attention will be on the presidential race in big states such as Ohio and Florida, CUNA will be paying particular attention to another race in the Buckeye State—that to fill the House seat vacated by former Speaker John Boehner.

More than a dozen candidates are seeking to represent Ohio’s 8th District, which is considered a safe Republican seat.

Of those 17 candidates three are considered to be the leaders: State Sen. Bill Beagle, small business owner Warren Davidson, and State Rep. Tim Derickson, a third generation dairy farmer who has received $250,000 in independent expenditures from CUNA’s PAC, the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee (CULAC).

“We have put a lot of effort into this race,” said CUNA’s Chief Political Officer, Richard Gose.
