Kansas CU Leaders Are Honored; Board Execs Elected

KANSAS CITY, Kan.–During a joint annual meeting between the Kansas and Nebraska CU Leagues, a number of people were recognized. The Kansas CU Association also marked its 80th anniversary at the event.

Kansans recognized at the event included:

  • Henry Peterson Professional of the Year: LaRae Kraemer, president, Kansas State University Federal Credit Union, Manhattan, Kan., who was recognized for her leadership within the Kansas credit union community.
  • John Michener Volunteer of the Year: Ryan Ausmus, Credit Union of Dodge City, who was honored for his contribution and devotion as a volunteer to credit unions and the greater community.

Meanwhile, at the KCUA business meeting, Don Homan of Frontier Community Credit Union, Leavenworth, was re-elected chairman of the board. John Beverlin, president/CEO of Mainstreet Credit Union, Lenexa, was re-elected vice chair, and Vickie Hurt, president of Quest Credit Union, Topeka, was re-elected secretary/treasurer.

Erich Schaefer, president of Golden Plains Credit Union, was elected to a three-year term on the KCUA board.
