Knoxville TVA Employees CU Buys Naming Rights To Stadium

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.—The $1.5-billion Knoxville TVA Employees CU has bought the naming rights to the home stadium of the Johnson City Cardinals.
The Johnson City Cardinals are a minor league affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals and play in the Appalachian League.

The playing surface will still be known as Howard Johnson Field, BallparkDigest.com reported. Details of the sponsorship package was not disclosed.
“We are excited about partnering with Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union,” Boyd Sports Vice President Jeremy Boler, told the publication. “Their commitment to the Johnson City Cardinals has created a new level of excitement for the ballpark and the community.”

“Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a non-profit, a cooperative. That means we not only work in our communities, but we live here and our children attend school here,” said Tammy Combs, branch manager at Knoxville TVA Credit Union in Johnson City. “So our communities are a part of us and it’s important to invest in our communities and to give back. Baseball is a wonderful sport that brings the community together.
