BATON ROUGE, La.–La Capitol FCU has become the official credit union partner of Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics.
The sponsorship was announced during the annual Strawberry Jam event that welcomes students back to campus. The Jam, hosted by Southeastern Athletics, was held in Strawberry Stadium kicking off the 2024-25 SLU Athletics year.
The La Capitol partnership offers new opportunities for outreach that will include providing financial literacy to the athletes helping them become fiscally smart as they advance their education and careers, the organizations said in a statement.
Fixture in Community
“La Cap has been a fixture in the Southeastern community for the past 25 years, and we are ready to ‘Lion up’ to the next level,” Interim Sales and Business Development Manager Lindsey Robinson said in a statement. “This partnership solidifies our commitment to the university’s continued growth and success.”
SLU has approximately 12,000 students and La Capitol has a branch adjacent to campus.
