ECORSE, Mich.—Robert LaPalme has been named as the new president/CEO of Downriver Community FCU.
He succeeds Michael Chmiel, who has retired. LaPalme joined DCFCU in 2012 as EVP and over the past 25 years has held a number of senior management positions at various southeast Michigan credit unions during that time. At the same time, Bonnie Swatski has been promoted to executive vice president. Swatski joined the CU at 16 as a clerk, and has held positions that have included teller, loan clerk, accounting clerk, accounting manager and vice president of finance.
