League Of Southeastern Credit Unions Paying Dues Rebate

Patrick La Pine, LSCU

BIRMINGHAM, Ala./TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—For the fourth straight year, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates is giving its affiliated credit unions a dues rebate.

This year’s rebate will be 6.5%, or $225,000. LSCU has returned more than $1 million to credit unions through dues rebates over the last four years.

“To offer a dues rebate for four years in a row is not only a testament to our organization, but the engagement of our credit unions,” said LSCU & Affiliates President/CEO Patrick La Pine in a statement. “The rebate is not made possible simply because of operating efficiencies with the league. It also includes credit unions affiliating with the league, participating in our Signature Events, and doing business with LEVERAGE (LSCU’s service organization).”

“The League and LEVERAGE have always worked to help credit unions succeed,” said LSCU/LEVERAGE Board Chairman Steve Swofford, who is also the CEO of Alabama Credit Union in Tuscaloosa, Ala. “As a CEO, I have a deep appreciation for the league as it is always a good steward of credit unions’ dues dollars. By sharing in their success they are walking the walk by doing everything possible to help credit unions in Alabama and Florida thrive.”

The dues rebate will be in the form of a paper check in April. LSCU said a few restrictions apply:

  • Credit unions must have paid their dues in full by March 31
  • Credit unions that were not affiliated in previous years are eligible to receive a dues rebate in 2016, but dues must be paid in full by March 31
  • Any credit union granted a dues waiver or reduction in 2015 is not eligible for a dues rebate
