Lending Flat Or Negative? NCUA Webinar Seeks To Plant Some Ideas

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–Concerned over flat or negative loan growth?

NCUA plans to host a 90-minute webinar, “Growing Loans by Partnering with the USDA,” on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

Improving profitability in the midst of a challenging interest rate environment make this webinar a timely and useful event, the agency said, adding the webinar will include a discussion of eligibility requirements for USDA programs and benefits to credit unions as well as descriptions of:

  • The Community Facilities Loan and Grant program
  • The Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan program
  • The Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan program

Lauren Bethea, an economic development specialist with NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, hosts Jeremy Gilpin, vice president of business services with Greater Nevada Credit Union, and USDA speakers Nathan Chitwood, regional coordinator, Community Facilities Program Rural Housing Services; Laurel Leverrier, assistant deputy administrator, Business Program Rural Development; and Kristina Zehr, finance and loan analyst, Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Division Rural Development.
