ST. LOUIS—The Chippewa Street office of St. Louis Community Credit Union has a large hole in its outside wall following a break-in early Tuesday morning.
A man wearing a ski mask started hitting the brick wall of the office with a sledgehammer around 2:45 a.m. The suspect beat at the wall for 30 minutes before he was able to create an opening, according to police.
Authorities say the suspect walked around the credit union for about a minute but didn’t take anything.
The suspect walked away from the credit union following the incident.
No other details were available.
The $236-million CU is based in St. Louis.
