WEST COLUMBIA, S.C.—A man wearing a sock over his hand attempted to rob a branch of South Carolina FCU here.
The man remains unidentified and on the loose.
According to police, the man entered the South Carolina FCU branch, which is across the street from the police station, and claimed to have a gun. The gun was never shown, but he used the sock to cover his hand as if he had a gun.
Police said despite the demands for cash, the man left the branch with no money.
