RICHMOND, Va.—The Richmond Fire Department Credit Union and Richmond Police Department CU have agreed to merge.
Both CUs filed for state approval for the deal on Oct. 31, according to State Corporation Commission records, RichmondBizSense.com reported. The new CU will be renamed Richmond Virginia Fire Police Credit Union and will have $21 million in assets, serving 2,500 members. The deal is expected to close early next year.
Meanwhile, in Iowa, $602-million DuTrac Community Credit Union said it will be absorbing via merger the $13-million Chemical Credit Union in Clinton.
