LANSING, Mich.–The Michigan Credit Union League is reporting that its board has voted in favor of adding a “young professional member” to the board this summer.
The seat will be filled by the most recent winner of the MCUL’s Young Professional of the Year Award and will be for a one-year term. The winner of the 2024 Young Professional of the Year Award was Kate Hall, VP of strategic management, Monroe Community Credit Union.
“It does not surprise me that our proactive Board of Directors was ‘all in’ to add a young professional seat at their table,” said MCUL President/CEO Patty Corkery. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the board to be enriched by the contributions of an up-and-coming leader who can bring in the voice of our growing YP community as well as an opportunity for the recipient to gain useful leadership experiences that will be integral to their professional growth.”
‘Deeply Honored’
Added Hall, “I am incredibly excited and deeply honored to have the opportunity to sit on the MCUL board as the recipient of the Young Professional of the Year Award. The league’s ongoing efforts to include and support young professionals within our industry are truly admirable, and the decision to continue creating space for emerging leaders will open many doors for growth and mentorship. I look forward to supporting the league’s mission during my board appointment.”
