LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich.—Michigan First Credit Union is expanding its footprint through locations in Kroger stores.
The $750-million CU just opened its first Kroger location and plans four more during the year.
“As our credit union continues to grow, we’re looking for new ways to provide convenient banking solutions for our members and the communities we serve,” said CEO Michael Poulos. “Our partnership with Kroger is the result of a shared customer service focus and passion for finding new and better ways to improve our member experiences.”
Michigan First and Kroger have agreed to a multi-year contract that includes the opportunity for expansion into additional Kroger stores in the coming years, the CU reported. The first location is at the corner of 26 Mile and Romeo Plank with additional locations in St. Clair Shores, Southgate, Brownstown Twp. and Roseville.
The new full-service branch covers 500 square feet, includes savings, loan and investment support, and features a MoneyWorks ATM that allows members to select bills in multiple denominations (from $50s to $1s), make loan or credit card payments, as well as deposit checks without an envelope.
