CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Central Macomb Community Credit Union President and CEO Drema Isaac received the Michigan Credit Union League’s Distinguished Service Award at its Annual Convention and Expo here, while the CMCCU’s Meagan Peasley, senior member service representative, received the 2015 Young Professional of the Year Award.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes service to the Michigan credit union movement reaching beyond the individual credit union. Isaac has been active in the credit union arena for approximately 20 years. In 2002, Isaac became the president/CEO of Central Macomb Community Credit Union, and has overseen growth from less than $50 million in assets to more than $170 million.
“Drema is a big supporter of the ‘people helping people’ philosophy that is a cornerstone of the credit union movement,” said Melinda Redman, chief financial officer, who nominated Isaac for the award. “
Isaac is also passionate about Make a Difference Day, held the fourth Saturday in October each year. She volunteers her time and encourages all employees of the credit union to volunteer their time to make a difference in the community.
Meagan Peasley, 25, meanwhile, received the Young Professional of the Year Award at 25 years old. She began her tenure with Central Macomb in 2013 and was promoted three times in just a year and a half.
“Her professionalism at such a young age is extremely impressive,” said Crystal Gracz, vice president of human resources, who submitted Peasley for the award.
The credit union said improving member service is Peasley’s goal. She submitted two proposals in 2014 for new ideas to improve member service, both of which were approved. The first was to offer a “Managing Your Finances” seminar for members. Her second submission was an internal change to streamline the loan application process to provide members with condensed document submission, quicker processing, approvals, and closings.
