HARRISBURG, Penn.– Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU and central Pennsylvania credit unions joined together to help raise $210,052 for a local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital, Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, during the 2015 Pay 4 Play radio-thon.
According to the Pennsylvania CU Association, in doing so they made history and reached Pay 4 Play’s $1-million milestone in total donations to CMN Hospitals since the event began nine years ago.
The 2015 Pay 4 Play is an annual radio-thon that raises money for life-saving equipment, research, and treatment programs for CMN Hospitals. The event is broadcast for a continuous 28 hours, and listeners could request a song of their choice in exchange for a donation to CMN Hospitals.
The event was hosted by 105.7 The X Rocks and its People’s Morning Show team, Nipsey, Earl David Reed and Jen Shade. For the entire 28 hours, the morning show personalities and volunteers from eight central Pennsylvania credit unions, including Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU and its family of companies, accepted requests and donations from callers.
The Pennsylvania credit unions that co-sponsored Pay 4 Play included Mid-Atlantic FCU, Belco Community CU, First Capital FCU, Heritage Valley FCU, Hershey FCU, Lancaster Red Rose CU, Lebanon FCU, Patriot FCU, Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU), Wheatland FCU and White Rose CU.
