CHICAGO—The $20-billion Alliant Credit Union has named Mike Dobbins CEO, the credit union announced.
Dobbins succeeds Interim CEO Ken Schaafsma, who will continue to serve Alliant as chief risk officer.
"Following a rigorous and thoughtful search, the board is thrilled to welcome Mike to Alliant Credit Union," said Lee Achord, chairperson of Alliant's board of directors. "Our objective was clear from the start: find the right leader to propel Alliant's strategic growth while honoring the values and culture that make this organization so special. We are confident that Mike is the ideal choice to lead us into the next chapter."
Dobbins brings over 30 years of financial services and fintech experience, with a track record of driving innovation, building high-performing teams and leading organizations through transformative growth. He joins Alliant from Framework Venture Partners, where he served as Venture Partner and Senior Advisor. Prior to that, he held executive roles at RBC, Canada's largest bank, the CU said.

The board also expressed its gratitude to Ken Schaafsma for his leadership as Interim CEO over the past eight months.
