ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota’s credit unions are reporting robust overall numbers.
The Minnesota CU Network said Q3 data shows MBLs at CUs in the state grew nearly 15%, ahead of the national average of 12.6%. Auto lending – for both new and used vehicles – was also strong with growth rates of 7% and 11%, respectively, over the same time period in 2013.
Some 8,000 Minnesotans joined a credit union during the third quarter, with membership up 37,000 in the year ended Sept. 30 and total membership in the state at 1.644 million. Total CU assets in the state are $19.1 billion.
