Monterrubio Promoted To Director of Regulatory Affairs At NAFCU

Alexander Monterrubio

ARLINGTON, Va.–NAFCU has promoted Alexander Monterrubio from regulatory affairs counsel to director of regulatory affairs, effectively immediately.

“Alex has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to representing credit unions’ interests before regulatory agencies and working to alleviate their overwhelming regulatory burden,” said NAFCU Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt. “His keen analytical skills and dedication to credit unions will be great assets as he leads the regulatory affairs team in his new role as director of regulatory affairs.”

In his new role, NAFCU said Monterrubio will oversee the regulatory affairs staff, which issue regulatory alerts to NAFCU members.  As the director of regulatory affairs, he is the staff liaison to federal regulatory agencies, including the CFPB and NCUA. Monterrubio also participates in webcasts and writes regulatory articles for NAFCU publications.

Monterrubio joined NAFCU in February 2015 as regulatory affairs counsel.

Prior to joining NAFCU, Monterrubio was on the government relations staff at the National Association Management Group LLC, where he represented restaurant franchisees.
