Mortgage Rates Continue To Flirt With Record Lows

WASHINGTON—Mortgage rates continue to flirt with all-time lows.

Freddie Mac reported that the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is now just 30 basis points above the record low that was set in late 2012. In its most recent analysis, Freddie Mac said the average on the 30-year fixed was 3.65% as of April 23, down from 3.67% a week earlier. On the same date in 2014, the average on a 30-year mortgage was 4.33%. Freddie Mac said the average on a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage was 2.92% last week, while the average on the one-year ARM was 2.44%.
