NAFCU Names O’Brien Director Of Political Affairs

Dan O'Brien, NAFCU

ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU has promoted Dan O’Brien to director of political affairs.

O’Brien, previously associate director of political affairs, will oversee NAFCU/PAC, organize NAFCU’s grassroots efforts and manage NAFCU’s political strategy. He will also continue his involvement with NAFCU’s lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill.

“Dan has demonstrated exceptional political insight in advancing NAFCU’s grassroots and coalition-building efforts on Capitol Hill,” said NAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt. “His acumen will be invaluable to NAFCU, particularly as we prepare for the Congressional Caucus in September.”

O’Brien replaces Katherine Marisic, who recently left NAFCU to serve as federal affairs manager for the Brewers Association.

O’Brien joined NAFCU in September 2011, coming to the trade association from the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, where he was the mid-Atlantic finance director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and PAC and political representative. O’Brien holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and government from Ohio Wesleyan University.
