NCUA to Host Webinar on Accounting ‘Hotspots’

ALEXANDRIA, Va.– NCUA said it will host a webinar for credit unions with questions about accounting practices on Sept. 26.

Registration for this webinar, “Accounting Hotspots for Credit Unions,” is now open. The webinar is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. E.T. and is expected to run approximately one hour. It will include a live question-and-answer session, the agency said.

According to NCUA, Sonya Pickens, an NCUA credit union examiner and national training specialist, will discuss common questions about record-keeping, including:

  • Audit expenses
  • Managing the allowance for loan losses account
  • Balance sheet concerns

NCUA said the webinar will be closed captioned, and there is no charge. Participants will be able to log in and view the event on their computers or mobile devices using the registration link. They should allow pop-ups from this website.

Participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance by emailing WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov. The email’s subject line should read, “Credit Union Accounting.” Please email technical questions about accessing the webinar to either uccwebinar@ncua.gov or uccsupport@ncua.gov.
