ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The $1.5-billion New Mexico Educators FCU has changed its name to Nusenda Credit Union.
The move is not based on a merger or acquisition, reported Albuquerque Business First, referring to an e-mail NMEFCU sent to its community partners Monday afternoon.
That e-mail explained the new name "reflects a new beginning, new growth, and a new direction in banking" and the FAQ customers are directed to notes that, "Though some members are confident when using our old name, many other members told us that it was long, confusing, and hard to say properly," the publication reported.
