SEATAC, Wash.—The Northwest Credit Union Association said it has made a new exam reporting tool available to its affiliated credit unions in order to share exam issues “in as much or as little detail as they like.”
“The reported data will be used by advocates as they work with regulatory agencies to improve exams during the upcoming year,” the association said.
Credit unions will have the ability to submit the forms anonymously, and the NWCUA said it will keep all information confidential regardless of whether users opt to include identifying information.
Just three questions are asked on the form: What is the issue? Why is it an issue? How could this issue be favorably resolved?
“Data from these forms will be aggregated — and trends identified — which will help set the agenda for meetings with the NCUA’s regional office and jointly with the state and NCUA supervisory examiners,” the NWCUA said.
The information gathered will be in addition to exam data that CUNA has been collecting.
