ALBANY, N.Y. – The New York Credit Union Association will host a number of renowned experts on the U.S. and global economies at its upcoming 2015 Northeast Economic Forum.
The event will be held Oct. 6-7 at the Embassy Suites in Saratoga, N.Y.
Among the speakers:
- Stuart Varney, who has been a fixture in global and national economic news for over 35 years. Varney joined Fox News in 2004, and he currently serves as host of Varney & Co. and as a FOX News Channel business contributor. The Peabody Award-winner also previously hosted economic shows on CNBC and CNN.
- Hugh Johnson, who has more than 40 years of investment experience, has appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, BusinessWeek and other leading newspapers and periodicals around the world, as well as on national television. He currently serves as an economic advisor to the chairman of the New York State Assembly Ways and Means Committee.
- Mike Schenk, who has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. As vice president of CUNA he conducts economic research and supports CUNA’s public relations and lobbying efforts. Schenk also serves as secretary on the board of a $2-billion-asset credit union, and he chairs his credit union’s asset-liability management and risk management committees.
- Dr. Nick Perna, who specializes in economic analysis, forecasting and strategy. He has served as an economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, General Electric and a number of major banking institutions. The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek each twice cited him as a top economic forecaster in the U.S.
The event will also feature several educational breakout sessions hosted by Dr. Jia Liu of the American Institute of Economic Research, Matthew Behar of Balance Sheet Solutions and Michael Cochrum of CU Direct Corporation.
