Navy FCU Faces Widespread Online And Mobile Banking Outages Amid System Maintenance

VIENNA, Va.— Navy Federal Credit Union is apparently grappling with widespread mobile and online banking disruptions, leaving many members unable to access their accounts as the institution conducts system maintenance, according to a report from the Economic Times.

According to outage-tracking site Downdetector, reports of service issues surged early Saturday, with 357 users flagging problems around 1:44 a.m. ET. Roughly 72% of complaints involved mobile logins, while another 18% cited mobile banking disruptions and 10% reported general login failures, the Economic Times reported.

The $192-million credit union confirmed to that the interruptions stem from scheduled maintenance, the Economic Times said.

“We’re currently performing scheduled maintenance on our systems. Our tech teams are working hard to complete the updates as soon as possible,” Navy Federal said in a statement responding to member inquiries.

The institution did not provide an estimated completion time but said it appreciates members’ patience “while we finish updating our systems.”
