Navy Federal To Spend $114M to Expand Offices

VIENNA, Va.—Navy FCU has announced it will spend $114.6-million to expand its headquarters here, including a 233,000-square-foot office building and the addition of 600 more jobs.

The announcement was made during a ceremony here by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe. The $63-billion Navy Federal already has more than 5,000 employees in Virginia alone.

“We’ve seen tremendous member growth over the last few years,” said Cutler Dawson, CEO/President of Navy Federal, in a statement.  “It’s critical in maintaining our high standards for exceptional member service that we continue to expand our presence in Fairfax County and Virginia. This state has a great wealth of talent, and Vienna is a community we are proud to be a part of.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to secure the project for Virginia, with the governor approving a $1-million grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Fairfax County with the project. Additional funding and services to support the company’s employee training activities will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
