BEAUMONT, Texas–Texas Coastal Community Credit Union has introduced a new name: Common Cents Credit Union.
According to the Cornerstone CU League, with the name change the CU was seeking something unique, and following numerous meetings with leadership and staff settled on the Common Cents name.
"We wanted to define our vision and our mission," Marketing Specialist Tish Lane was quoted by the CCUL as saying. "Each employee wrote down the core values they wanted to carry out in their work, and then they discussed the values they wanted to represent and live by daily."
This was a quality way to unify their team, Lane notes, and know that the path they were undertaking to carry out those values would manifest in everything they did.
Fittingly, the new name comes with a new tagline: “It just makes sense.”
“Our new name is both straightforward and a play on words," said Common Cents CEO Lanya Reynolds, according to the Cornerstone league. "Our credit union offers the same great member services as ever, with an emphasis on helping our members with financial education and products/services that best fit their unique needs. Common Sense? You bet. Common Cents? Even Better."
The $25 million Common Cents CU serves 2,912 members.
