Northeastern CUs Rolling Out Multi-Media Marketing Campaign Around ‘Values’

MALBOROUGH, Mass. — Credit unions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island are rolling out a new media advertising campaign that is being sponsored by the Cooperative Credit Union Association, the trade group for the three states.

Using the theme “Better Values. Better Banking,” the campaign aims to encourage consumers to seek out and join a credit union to do their financial services business.

At the heart of the campaign is BetterValuesBetterBanking.com, which offers information on credit unions, touts 15 reasons to join, has answers for frequently asked questions, and offers a brief historical overview of the formation of credit unions in the U.S. The site also includes a search function for consumers to find a credit union they can join.

Radio and TV advertising, social media, community events and other support all are designed to drive traffic to the site.

According to the Cooperative CU Association, social media posts will also receive support from video interviews currently being produced through what is being called the “Casting Call” program. Member CUs are hosting the Association’s mobile video studio where CU members are interviewed about their banking experience and what makes it stand out from other financial institutions. Video clips of the interviews will appear in social media and future TV commercials as another way to promote and share the credit union story, according to the CCUA.

The media campaign runs through January 2016, when it will move into phase two.
