SEATTLE–Northwest Baptist FCU is being absorbed via merger by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union.
NWBFCU, which had just 1,000 members, was founded in 1958 to serve the congregation of Mount Zion, a historic African American church in Seattle, as well as the central Seattle community and employees of American Baptist Churches of the Northwest who work in Washington, Idaho and Montana. The $635-million Seattle Metro has 45,000 members and an FOM of anyone who lives or works in Washington State.
