Numerica CU Lays Off 3.5% Of Its Workforce

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.—The $5-billion Numerica Credit Union is laying off 25 employees, or 3.5% of its workforce, as part of internal structuring, the CU announced.

Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO, attributed the staff cuts to the evolving economic landscape and changing needs of its members, the Spokane Journal said.

“We value the contributions of all of our team members and deeply regret the need for these layoffs,” Cicero stated in a release. “We are committed to supporting our affected employees through this transition.”

Impacted team members will receive severance packages that include job placement support, such as resume review and interview coaching, Cicero said.

Cicero said Numerica’s financial condition is strong and that all branches will remain open, and services will continue uninterrupted.
