WASHINGTON—CUNA is working with three representatives from Ohio to help usher into law a bill to give privately insured CUs access to the Federal Home Loan Bank System.
“Last week Reps Steve Stivers (R, OH), Joyce Beatty (D, OH) and Pat Tiberi (R, OH) introduced HR299, the Capital Access For Small Community Financial Institutions Act,” explained Donovan. “This legislation is similar to legislation that passed the Financial Services Committee and House last year. We were strongly supportive of the bill in the last Congressional session, and we remain very supportive of the bill in this session. We will be working with Rep. Stivers and others to secure its passage in the House and ultimately its enactment into law.”
