One CU Rep Testifying In DC Today; Another Talking E-Payment Protection

WASHINGTON—A credit union representative will be testifying on Capitol Hill today before the Senate’s Special Committee on Aging.

The Maine league said Sen. Susan Collins, who chairs the committee, had asked for a witness from Maine’s CUs to testify before the committee on how prepared Americans are for retirement.

Testifying will be Rob Carmichael, SVP-human resources at Maine Savings FCU. According to the league, Carmichael is active on HR issues in Maine as a member of the Maine CU HR Council and serves on the Executive Committee of the CUNA HR Council. He will be one of four witnesses. In his remarks, Carmichael will be discussing the ways in which his credit union helps its employees prepare financially for retirement.

The hearing begins at 10:30 a.m. ET today and will be streamed live. To hear the entire Hearing and testimony as it happens, click here.
