HARRISBURG, Penn.–PSCU and the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association have announced an agreement in which PSCU will be the preferred provider of credit and debit card services to Pennsylvania credit unions currently serviced by PCUA’s service corporation, PACUL Services, Inc.
Under terms of the agreement, PSCU will have the opportunity to establish long-term servicing relationships with 186 credit unions, representing 260,000 credit and debit accounts. The Pennsylvania agreement follows a similar agreement with the Credit Union League of Connecticut that was announced earlier in January.
PCUA said it conducted a lengthy and comprehensive due-diligence process of its credit unions’ current and future card processing needs. In particular, PCUA said it sought to provide its credit unions best-of-class benefits and product enhancements that improve cardholder service and maximize the value for their credit unions.
“In vetting potential debit and credit cards servicing partners, we were looking for a partner that could bring the best service and greatest value to our credit unions,” said Patrick Conway, president and CEO of PCUA in a released statement. “PSCU and PCUA share a common set of values and vision. We’re excited about the opportunities this relationship opens up for our credit unions regarding the future growth potential for their card programs, and the new products and services they will be able to offer their members.”
PSCU anticipates the transitioning of the PCUA credit unions’ credit and debit relationships will begin as early as fourth quarter 2016.
“This is a mutually beneficial, win-win relationship for both parties,” said Chuck Fagan, president and CEO of St. Petersburg, Fla.-based PSCU. “Our high-touch service model, commitment to delivering an unparalleled member experience, and broad set of feature rich payment solutions – all backed by 24/7/365 cardholder servicing – will help the PCUA credit unions achieve their strategic objectives for growth and member service excellence.”
