ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–Lynn Heckler, Executive Vice President of Talent for PSCU, has been recognized by the HR Florida State Council as 2015 HR Professional of the Year.
The award was presented during the Annual HR Florida Conference and Expo in the presence of more than 1,500 HR leaders. Heckler joined PSCU in 2001 and is a member of the Suncoast Human Resources Management Association (SHRMA).
Each year, the HR Florida State Council recognizes a human resource leader who has advanced the profession in a significant way. The individuals nominated for this award serve as role models for the profession, setting the standard for others to follow, and applying their expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness, according to the organization.
According to PSCU, Heckler is responsible for the functions that define the company's culture and employees’ work experience. She commits herself to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the most recent changes in human resources law and best practices.
“I am truly honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Heckler. “As HR professionals, we have a responsibility to develop the next generation of HR leaders and to ensure the HR function is relevant for generations to come.”
PSCU said it nominated Heckler for the award with the belief that “HR professional” is more than a title on a business card and role one plays at a company; rather, to be a true HR professional, it takes an innate desire to be a servant to the profession as well as to an organization’s employees and their families. Heckler not only embodies this premise, but also does so with dedication and passion.”
