ALEXANDRIA, Va.—PenFed Credit Union has made a $25,000 donation to NAFCU for its advocacy efforts.
“NAFCU’s founders believed in credit unions and their commitment to serving their members,” said James Schenck, president and CEO of PenFed. “The association’s efforts have been essential to the success and survival of the credit union movement. For nearly fifty years, NAFCU has fought to preserve and protect the practices that make credit unions attractive to so many Americans.”
NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger accepted the donation from PenFed. Berger discussed the importance of NAFCU’s frequent engagement on Capitol Hill.
“We must ensure consumers continue to have alternatives to the banking industry, and generous support like this from PenFed Credit Union goes a long way toward making it possible,” he said. “As an industry, credit unions have time and time again proven to genuinely have their members’ best interests at heart. NAFCU is very pleased to receive this contribution from PenFed.”
