According to the notice, RBFCU has informed those affected via either an email or a letter, San Antonio Express-News said.

This is the first breach listed for RBFCU on the attorney general’s site it began reporting such incidents in 2023. A state law that went into effect in September 2023 requires businesses and organizations to report data breaches affecting 250 or more Texans within 30 days of discovery, San Antonio Express-News said.

San Antonio Express-News noted that cyberattacks have targeted other San Antonio-based banks, including USAA which recently paid $3.25 million to settle a proposed class action lawsuit over a 2021 data breach affecting as many as 22,600 people. It’s also facing another class action suit over an April data breach involving 32,275 customers.
