WINFIELD, Ind.— The $182.3-million REGIONAL FCU has named Michael Peters president and CEO, succeeding longtime leader Jill Banning following what the credit union said was nearly four decades of service and leadership.
REGIONAL said the appointment takes effect as the organization begins what it described as a new chapter focused on continued growth and member service.
Board Chair Josh Long said Peters brings deep experience in financial services and the credit union industry, calling him “a proven leader” with a strong understanding of members’ evolving needs and community-focused financial services. Long said Peters’ vision, experience and commitment to the credit union philosophy made him the right choice to lead the organization forward.
In announcing the leadership transition, REGIONAL said Peters has a track record in strategic leadership, operational execution and member-focused innovation. The credit union said his priorities as president and CEO will include enhancing the member experience, expanding digital capabilities and driving sustainable growth while maintaining its “people helping people” mission.
Peters said he is “honored” to join REGIONAL FCU and build on the foundation established by Banning, adding that he looks forward to working with the staff and board to deliver value to members and support the communities the credit union serves.
