SALEM, Va.—The Salem Red Sox and Blue Eagle Credit Unions have announced a new partnership in which Blue Eagle will become the official partner of the Salem Red Sox Community Impact Campaign for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

During the 2015 Red Sox season, community relations efforts reached a franchise-high, raising $141,106 for local charities through jersey auctions, Pack the Park nights, and various other community-driven events. In addition, Red Sox players and coaches made nearly 200 community appearances, while Mugsy, the Red Sox mascot, appeared in over 70 hours of community events.

“Blue Eagle Credit Union has been an active part of the community for more than 65 years. Teaming up with the Red Sox allows us further reach in making a positive difference and building a stronger community,” said Laurissa Grubb, director of marketing at Blue Eagle Credit Union. “We’re thrilled to work alongside of an organization that shares our values and commitment to social responsibility. We strongly believe in people helping people, enriching lives, and having fun!”

Blue Eagle Credit Union and the Red Sox “street team” will sport a newly designed logo honoring the partnership. The street team will appear at all events that the organizations are involved in within the community, and in-game promotions at LewisGale Field.
