CORNELIUS, N.C.—An armed robber used a bicycle to make his getaway after robbing a credit union branch here.
At about 2:30 p.m., a man entered the 20221 W. Catawba Ave. office of the $392-million Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union, brandished a black handgun and ordered a teller to give him money, police stated. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Later police found a bicycle in the area of the robbery along with some money. Police believe the robber had a vehicle waiting for him behind a local retail center. Still at large, the robber is described as a balding white man, 5-feet-10-inches tall. He was wearing a white and blue ball cap, beige pants and a dark coat.
