RALEIGH, N.C.–In the first few weeks after rolling out mobile payments for its debit and credit card holders, State Employees’ Credit Union is reporting that nearly 14,000 active tokens for credit union cards have been issued, with more than 54,000 transactions processed amounting to $344,000 in total sales.
SECU is now live with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay.
“Mobile payments are not new to the financial industry, but as a trusted financial services provider, it was important for SECU to do our homework and feel confident in the safety and security of the service prior to launching it to our membership,” said Leanne Phelps, SECU’s SVP of card services. “User feedback has been extremely positive and we are pleased that members are excited to have this payment option available.”
