WASHINGTON--Jonathan McKernan is now Under Secretary for Domestic Finance at the United States Department of the Treasury after the Senate voted Tuesday to confirm his appointment, America's Credit Unions reported.
President Trump announced plans to nominate McKernan for the position at Treasury in May. As a Treasury nominee, he addressed attendees at America’s Credit Unions Congressional Caucus in September, outlining priorities and key concerns, ACU noted.
McKernan will work under Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent. Before his confirmation, he served as an advisor.
“It is an honor to continue my career in public service to the American People as Under Secretary of Domestic Finance,” said McKernan. “I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Bessent for their confidence in me to further the economic agenda of this Administration as we look to accelerate this nation’s sustainable economic growth.”
