WHITEFISH, Mont.–Whitefish Credit Union here welcomed some unusual visitors: six mules.
The mules--Sophie, Penny, Peaches, Saltese, Rufus and Judy--pack crews in and out of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and visited Whitefish Credit Union for a lunchtime meet and greet.
“Aside from being beautiful and friendly, the mules were there to help raise awareness of the 2024 Great Fish Community Challenge,” the Whitefish Pilot reported.
In addition, DREAM Adaptive Recreation, Flathead Rivers Alliance, Two Bear Therapeutic Riding Center, Whitefish Legacy Partners and the Bob Marshall Foundation were also on hand to share information and encourage the community to lend support during the Challenge, which runs through Sept. 13.
For its part, Whitefish Credit Union supplied carrots to children and adults to share with the mules.
