CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Skyla Credit Union has introduced a new “Simply Prosper Checking Account” that pays 4.00% APY on balances up to $25,000 providing certain criteria are met.
“This type of high-yield return is typically reserved for CDs and savings accounts but is now open to everyone in the form of a checking account,” the credit union said in introducing the product. “Best of all, the rate is permanent, with no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements.”

The Criteria
To earn the 4% APY members must enroll in eStatements, use their Skyla CU debit and/or credit card 20+ times a month, and have direct deposit minimum of $500/month.
Skyla CU said any U.S. citizen who joins the American Consumer Council is eligible for membership.
