MADISON, Wis.–A new digital slideshow has been released by the Filene Research Institute that offers some insights into the results of a pilot study featuring fin lit content aimed at capturing the Gen Y market.
The focus is on “It’s a Money Thing,” a financial literacy program piloted by Filene that features a collection of affordable financial education content aimed at engaging and teaching young adults. Delivered electronically to the credit union on a monthly basis, it includes a video, an article, an infographic, a presentation, a handout and graphics for use on social media.
According to Filene, credit unions participating in the “It’s A Money Thing” pilot saw a 9% increase in their Gen Y membership.
More than 60 CUs are now using the program. Twenty participated in the pilot and 10 provided data. Satisfaction with social media engagement increased 100% from 30% pre-pilot to 60% post-pilot among the reporting CUs, Filene said.
